Licences and notices
Last updated September 14, 2026
The driver map on this site is built from open data. This page lists where the map and the places on it come from, and the licences each source is provided under. Links open the licence text on the source's own site.
Base map and tiles
Map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap and rendered in the browser with MapLibre GL JS and Leaflet. The map style and tiles are built on the OpenMapTiles schema (© OpenMapTiles). The underlying map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.
Places from OpenStreetMap
Truck stops, fuel stations, weigh stations, rest areas, truck parking, repair shops and truck washes sourced from OpenStreetMap are © OpenStreetMap contributors and licensed under the ODbL 1.0. We store OpenStreetMap places in their own dataset, separate from places that come from other sources, and we do not combine the two into a single database.
Places from the Overture Maps Foundation
Most repair shops, truck dealers, tire shops, towing services, parts stores and food locations come from the Overture Maps Foundation places dataset. Records in that dataset are provided under the Community Data License Agreement, Permissive, version 2.0 (CDLA-Permissive-2.0), Apache 2.0 or CC0 1.0, depending on the contributor. Overture's own attribution page lists the contributors for the places theme. The records we use include data from Foursquare under Apache 2.0; Overture's attribution for that data reads:
Data from Foursquare. Copyright 2024 Foursquare Labs, Inc. All rights reserved. Available under Apache 2.0. Foursquare data was transformed to the Overture schema.
Foursquare OS Places notice
The Apache 2.0 licence requires us to preserve Foursquare's notice file in full. It is reproduced below unchanged. A copy of the Apache License, Version 2.0 is available at the link inside the notice.

See the License for the specific language governing permissions and limitations under the License.
We also encourage you to join our Placemaker community where you can contribute and provide suggestions to improve the accuracy of the Data for future releases for yourself and others.
Notice of changes: PDI Industries has filtered these records to truck-relevant categories, normalised names, categories, addresses and coordinates to a common schema, removed duplicates across sources and added a confidence score. The places shown on this site are derived from the sources above and may differ from them.
Places from AllThePlaces
Brand locations such as Pilot, Flying J, TA, Petro, Road Ranger, CAT Scale and Blue Beacon come from the AllThePlaces project and are released under the CC0 1.0 public domain dedication.
Truck parking from the US Department of Transportation
Truck parking locations and space counts come from the US Department of Transportation National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD), based on the Jason's Law truck parking survey. This is public domain data published by the US government. Space counts reflect the 2019 survey and may have changed since.
Map software
Leaflet is released under the BSD 2-Clause licence. MapLibre GL JS is released under the BSD 3-Clause licence.
